I snuck out by MYSELF to get a little shopping done.
First to Lululemon to spend a little of my “Mom’s Running Fund” money that I’ve “earned” over the last couple of months and a gift card (thank you mom & dad!). I got it earlier this year on my birthday but waited to spend it because I wanted to get a bit more weight off before I splurged on new running wear.
The side pockets are more than decoration to distract from the size of my thighs. They are perfect for slipping in a gu or a dollar for water at the gas station.
And soooo comfy. I know the clothes at Lulu are ridiculously $$, but the fabric they use in their capri’s is wonderfully soft and comfy. I have quite a few capri’s from Target and Sports Authority, but none of them are as comfy as Lulu’s. Which is probably why so many mom’s around here tend to spend all day in their Lulu clothes?
Then off to Sur La Table. I’m on their email list and occasionally get free $10 coupons when you buy anything. We needed new measuring spoons. Total cost for the mix and spoons after coupon? $1.95! (makes up for my Lulu splurge maybe?)
And after trying on 20+ items at Lululemon I *needed* a Whoopie Pie Mix. Seriously. As expensive as their clothes are they could at least have dressing room mirrors that make me look like a fitness model. Sheesh. And yes, I know, whoopie’s aren’t going to help, but they sure do taste good. Besides, I have fond memories of being able to buy them at the corner store when we visited my grandparents house in Maine.
The Stonewall Kitchen mix was super yummy. And as far as boxed mixes go I was super happy to see VERY simple ingredients in the package. No hydrogenated, unpronounceable, lab created foods on the label. Nice!
Judging by the reactions I think the kiddos enjoyed trying a Maine treat.
