Menu Planning Monday 11/19 – The $2 Thanksgiving Turkey

Last night we had the Panera Broccoli & Cheddar Soup. It was SOOO YUMMY, there were no leftovers. I will definitely be making this again very soon.
It’s just the five of us for Thanksgiving this year so I won’t make as much as I normally do when we have people over. I’m looking forward to next year when we will have a new home, live closer to family, and we can stuff my house full of people for Thanksgiving! I love having friends and family over.

A word about my $2 turkey. I usually get my turkey (free range & fresh) from Whole Foods. Delicious but expensive, I usually spend $25+ for a 14 lb. turkey. Earlier this month Harris Teeter had a 3-day sale on their frozen turkeys. They were .19 a lb when you spent at least $25! I picked up a small 11 lb turkey and paid just barely over $2.00. I’ll miss my fresh turkey, but I’m sure my $2 turkey will turn out just as yummy!

We had the Panera Broccoli and Cheddar soup last week, and we didn’t have any leftovers either! :)

I’m headed out to shop for my Thanksgiving meal today. Albertson’s has the .19/lb turkeys this week, too. And sometimes Winco has them even cheaper. I’m going to hit Winco first, and then head to Albertson’s for all my bargains. :)

Oh, glad you are able to get a cheap turkey too :) I’m doing my shopping today too. I have to get a can of green beans, some potatoes and heavy whipping cream. Everything else I need for Thanksgiving dinner I have so far.

I’m so glad you shared that Panera soup recipe, we all love that soup, especially the baby. I’m super happy I was able to make it at home, AND it turned out right!

Thanks for the link to the repcipe for the soup. That is my favorite soup at Panera, can’t wait to try it at home. Sweet deal on the turkey!

Wow, great deal on your turkey! I haven’t seen it that low around here!

Wow, what a steal on that turkey! I still have yet to get ours! Blessings on your Thanksgiving!

    Kelly,
You will love the recipe! I have a feeling I’ll be making it a lot this winter.

    Amy,
Keep your eyes peeled, Lynnae even got one this week for .19 a lb. Sadly, grocery prices are rising so cheap turkeys aren’t as easy to find this year.

    Sarah,
    Happy Thanksgiving!

Every one remembers that life seems to be expensive, but some people need money for various things and not every man gets big sums money. Thus to get good personal loans or student loan would be a right solution.
