Reaching Triple Coupon Burnout…

Lowe’s Foods had triple coupons again last week. We’ve been having it so often that even some of us local die-hard couponers are getting a little worn out (I know, ya’ll that don’t ever have triple coupon sales near you, don’t throw tomatoes at me please!)

It wasn’t one of the best triple coupon shopping trips I’ve had, and I even *gasp* waited to shop until the last day. But I got some things we needed and a few things to put in a bag to donate to a food bank that a friend was collecting for.

drumroll please……………………

triple coupons

Shelf price $70.18
Spent $17.51
Saved $52.67 (75%)

What did my $17.51 buy me?

Well, for one, it seems a lot of junk/processed food. But some of it was FREE and was going to the Food Bank. This was not my main shopping trip for the week, I did that at another store to get my fresh produce, meat and such.

1 dozen eggs
1 gallon milk
1 box Band-Aids
4 pk Scott toilet paper
2 tubs Huggies wipes
2 bags Flat Earth Chips
1 box Eggo’s
2 boxes Pop Secret popcorn
1 box Kellogg’s Froot Loops Smoothies Cereal
1 Bulls-Eye BBQ sauce
2 boxes Jose Ole stuff
1 minute maid frozen lemonade
2 boxes Mashed Potatoes
2 bags cookie mix
1 Hungry Jack syrup
2 boxes Tyson chicken tenders
1 bag Pillsbury frozen biscuits

Post your great deals for Super Savings Saturday over at Money Saving Mom.

You did great! I sure wish we had triple coupons. We don’t even have double coupons!

Oh my goodness, that’s amazing! I used to clip coupons, but I always ended up buying stuff I didn’t need. Still, if all I had to pay for all that was $18, it would be totally worth it! Great deal!

    Hello!
Thank You for coming by. I LOVE your site! But, I have only just started reading it. We have a Walmart here it seems to be more high priced than most I hear about. We also shop Fred Meyers (which is actually lower priced on alot of things than Walmart), we have an Albertsons and we shop Safeway (because hubby works there). We do have a Grocery Outlet but they are never consistent in what they carry. I have heard of that Grocery Game but not the other one. I will have to check it out. Has it really been a benefit for you? I am also trying really hard to get this whole coupon thing down but am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I have been checking out Crystal’s blogs and I purchased her Supermarket Savings course when it was on sale. This is going to be a hard year for us because of my husband’s illness so every bit of help I can get will be a blessing!
Again, Thank You for coming by and please email me at

if you have any tips or ideas!
    Blessings,
    Andrea

Thanks everyone- I wish they had double/triple coupons everywhere. It is a lot of fun to get stuff free. (although the stores make up for it by having ridiculously high regular prices)

    Andrea,
Thanks for visiting. I love the Grocery Game, but some people do just as good by using Couponmom, visiting message boards etc… There are lots of ways to find the good deals without having to pay for the Grocery Game service. The grocery game isn’t in all cities either, so I’m not sure if it will work in your area. But even if you just want to try it it’s only $1 for the first 4 weeks (just make sure to cancel BEFORE the end of the trial). The trial can give you a good idea of how it works and maybe help you if you want to replicate the list on your own. It’s a very good intro to couponing/stockpiling. I’ll give you an email in a bit with some other ideas that I use.
