My “Money Making Monday” Idea

Money Saving Mom asked her readers if they have any entrepreneurial ideas to share; so I thought I’d write about mine. (real quick before the kids get home from school!)

One of my favorite entrepreneurial ideas is taking surveys. It’s a very simple thing to do that doesn’t take a lot of time. It’s a very easy way for moms or busy people to earn a little extra cash in their spare time.

My favorite places to take surveys are Survey Savvy and MySurvey.

So far with Survey Savvy I’ve made $215.00 and with MySurvey I’ve made $149.75.

Survey Savvy is run by Luth Research, which is based out of San Diego, California. Based on your location you may also get focus group invitations that pay $75+.

My Survey has been around since 1946. They also offer many opportunities to test products in your own home (that you get to keep afterwards). I can’t give specifics, but one of the products I was able to test this year was a baby product.

Both companies pay promptly (with Survey Savvy you can request a payment at any time. With My Survey you must have at least $10.00 in your account.)

Those are my “tried and true” money making monday ideas!

I was wondering if you would mind giving us an idea of what you can earn per survey, and how long they take approx.??? Thanks for your input!

    Hi Nari- thanks for visiting.

It really totally depends on the survey. When you get a survey invitation usually the email will tell you how long the survey might take to finish (it never takes me as long as they estimate. I always finish much quicker. On average maybe 5-10 minutes?) and how much the compensation is. With PineCone Research each survey pays $5.00. With Survey Savvy it’s $2+. With My Survey it varies, if I qualify for a survey it might be 400 points (which is $4) or more. It really depends.
The focus groups are the best. Sometimes you do them online (for 1-2 hours), or in person. Those pay well. $60-$150.

I’ve been taking surveys for 7 years or so? I have no idea how many I’ve done. On average I spend about 5 minutes a survey, and probably no more than an hour a month on surveys? I haven’t really kept track before, guess I should.

    Thanks for visiting!

If you are interested in taking surveys, I’d always advise taking a systematic approach, treating it like work and rather than relying on one or two companies, signing up for loads of them. Whilst many companies won’t send you many surveys each month they do add up so after a year or so, you’ll find most months you’ve reached the payout threshold for one or more of the smaller sites, leading to a regular income. I personally use free survey listing whichsurveys.com to keep up with what’s new and use roboform for filling out applications and remembering all the passwords
